Cancer: The number one cause of death

The Bad News: It would appear that for the first time ever cancer has now surpassed heart disease as the number one cause of death among Americans under the age of 85 (also here).

The Good News: Deaths from both heart disease and cancer are both decreasing, but the decrease in the number of deaths from heart disease has been more dramatic than it has been for cancer.
