Is this for real?

I'm afraid it is:

I definitely won't be buying one. Even if I were still a Bush supporter, I'd find it incredibly tacky.

And a bit scary, as well.

Wow, that is tacky. And I still am a Bush supporter (somewhat).

My 8 year-old saw a billboard with the same tag line and an American flag and wondered if someone wanted him to think Bush was God. Out of the mouths of babes?

Hey ORAC, you think that's crazy? Go see right wing stuff. A virtual cornucopia of paraphanelia meant to incite liberals to apoplytic convulsions. Even though I'm less than excited by the 2nd term, I still want the "four more years" t-shirt. Truly billiant.

I'm as far left as one can get and not be Karl Marx and I actually think the Bush Fish is quite funny. I kind of want to get one because it's so silly.

I thought it was fantabulous! But then, I thought it was satirical...

I'd buy one.

The things that scares me is not the message assuch, but the apparent lack of self-irony. Oh, and the complete and utter lack of understanding of the US constitution. I live on the other side of the world, yet I seem to have a better understanding of it than this bunch.

So, what percentage of the country does this fish really describe/appeal to? American Christian nationalists, who oppose strict separation of Church and State and who see in George Bush a (perhaps the epitome of a?) Christian nationalist leader. You have to be all these things -- Christian, American nationalist, Bush-centric, anti-ACLU -- for this fish to work. Yeah, it's my liberal nightmare. But I really do wish we knew whether it was a minnow or a whale....

Sadly, as far as I can tell, the Bush fish is not satirical. They're serious. That's what's scary.

Ouch. Good god, that's scary to me -- and I'm a Christian. It offends my intelligence to have someone inform me that in order to love God, I must also support President Bush. ***SIGH***
