Battlestar Galactica is back
Yep, tonight at 10 PM, you know where I'll be, watching the best SF show on the air since Babylon 5 finished up and finding out how the final confrontation between Commander Adama and Admiral Helena Cain turns out.
I can't wait.
You'll find no argument from me regarding the quality of BSG, but I have to ask: you didn't watch Farscape, did you? (sigh)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, BSG is the direct descendent of Farscape, and it totally sucks that Skiffy reneged on FS's 5th year. At least we got to finish off with the mini-series, and it's now in syndication. BSG is a lot more serious than FS needed to be, and I for one appreciated the occasional pop culture reference and outright silliness, but FS's willingness to gamble on the intelligence of its audience was still a little before its time.
Yeah! Woot!
ReplyDeleteMy only complaint is no foreseeable nsfw scenes of Starbuck beating the hell out of a punching bag.
That's not weird, is it?
I'm guilty about Farscape but I was a poor grad student with no money for cable.
Firefly was pretty outstanding as well. Thought the movie wasn't up to the series (pandered to the special effects blowup-requiring movie audiences), but it deserved better than to lose money.
I was wondering when this was going to happen. Thanks for the heads-up. Firefly was head and shoulders above this series. Don't get me wrong - the production and directing of BSG is outstanding, it's just the writing that irks me. They may be good actors, but the dialogue really makes me cringe at times. But I'll watch it; I'm just a sucker for sci-fi, I guess. :D

ReplyDeletelooks like 1-2 more episodes to find that one out
